During this three-day Hanen Certification Workshop, speech-language pathologists/therapists learn about the Hanen approach to early language intervention, which empowers parents of children with language delays to become their child’s primary language facilitator. They also receive training in how to lead the It Takes Two to Talk Program, in which parents learn to apply responsive strategies to everyday interactions with their child, making intervention an ongoing process.
|
The It Takes Two to Talk workshop:
- Provides intensive, small-group training to SLP/Ts who work with preschoolers (0-5) with language delays and their families.
-
Addresses application of the Hanen approach within everyday clinical practice, as well as within an It Takes Two to Talk Program
-
Covers adult learning principles and their application to teaching parents/caregivers, using the Hanen teaching model.
-
Is a prerequisite for attendance at advanced Hanen workshops
