What is SHAS?
SHAS
stands for Speech-Language and Hearing Association, Singapore.
SHAS is the professional association for speech-language therapists in
Singapore.
SHAS is a young association. It was formally registered
with the Registrar of Societies in September 1994, after a formation process
that began in 1992.
SHAS aims to promote the profession of speech therapy in
Singapore by:
- promoting communication between members via its
electronic quarterly newsletter
- organising professional
development events in Singapore
- improving recognition of the profession
- assuring standards of practice
SHAS has recently produced a Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice document for speech-language therapists in Singapore.
