SHAS will be a Premier Association for Speech-Language Therapists in Singapore and the South-East Asian Region, promoting quality living for individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties.

Mission
To promote and maintain high standards in:

• Clinical practice
• Ethics in Service Delivery
• Continuing Education for Speech-Language Therapists

This will be achieved by:

1. Actively promoting membership and developing strategies to retain members.
2. Developing strategies to become a governing body for Speech-Language Therapists.
3. Ongoing professional development activities and promoting research amongst members.
4. Developing policies and guidelines for practice and code of ethics.
5. Establishing channels to set up local graduate and postgraduate training facilities.
